Manish Koirala - Ovarian cancer
Manish Koirala, yesteryear actress was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer in November 2012 and underwent treatment iin December 2012. The operation was successful and she is living a healthy and quite life ever since.
Yuvraj Singh - Lung cancer
Yuvraj Singh broke records and won player of the tournament in the 2011 World Cup but he was also suffering from nausea, and sometimes vomiting blood. He was suffering from stage 1 lung cancer - left lung had a tumor. Yuvraj Singh not recovered from cancer after going through chemotherapy, he also participated in the 2012 T20 World Cup. Discovery Channel did an exclusive show with him where he was seen playing the host.
Lisa Ray - Multiple Myeloma
Famous actor and model Lisa Ray got diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called Multiple Myeloma. It affects the plasma cells in the bone marrow, and it is known to be treatable but not curable. Lisa Ray was detected with the disease in June 2009 and within a year, in April 2010, she announced that she was free from it. She is still fighting it as it is not totally curable yet.
Anurag Basu - Blood Cancer
The ace director and film maker of Bollywood was diagnosed with a type of blood cancer called promyelocytic leukaemia, but instead worrying about his treatment, he used the time to write scripts for two of his future ventures, Gangster and Life in a Metro. He was diagnosed in the year 2004 with the doctors saying that he has a 50% chance of making it. Needless to say, he made it.
We often see these celebrities doing the impossible on screen, but when they go ahead and do it in real life, that is when they become true heroes. They lead their life by examples and motivate thousands if not millions by their actions.
