Breaking The Silence Campaign Gain Momentum With World Pulse
Breaking the Silence is a global campaign that is slowly gaining momentum in India. The goals and objectives of the campaign is to end superstitions and myths about menstruation cycles, and spread knowledge and awareness about a better, healthy and hygienic lifestyle for women and girls.
India is a land of cultures, religions and deep rooted superstitions. We all remember the uproar it caused when the Shani Tample barred women from entering the premises or offer prayers. Much has already been said and done about the issue but that was not an isolated case. Breaking the Silence campaign is looking to end these practices for good. They are targeting villages first because that is where there is lack of education and understanding among the people. Members of the organisation are busy conducting workshops and spreading word. Their approach is simple, cover as much ground as impossible moving from village to village, house to house.
