The Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu is now reaching its climax. Out of the total 234 constituencies, 232 went for polling last Monday. The polling in the other two has been postponed due to irregularities that occurred during the campaigning stage. The results are still coming in but the verdict has become loud and clear with the ADMK winning in more than 130 constituencies, giving it a clear majority. The other main party in the state, the DMK, has won in around 100 constituencies thereby making it the major opposition in the assembly.

The highlight of this win is that the ADMK has broken a 32 year old record by coming into power for a second successive term. One feels that the DMK has done a blunder by allocating 41 seats for the Congress in their coalition agreement, out of which the Congress failed to win even a single seat. Other parties like DMDK, VC, BJP etc also failed to win a single seat. The PMK is the only other party to win a seat out of the 232 that went for poll.

Polling in the remaining two constituencies will be held soon, but from the looks of it the winner is surely ADMK which means Chief Minister Jayalalithaa remains exactly where she is. The CM has expressed her gratitude towards the people of Tamil Nadu for voting her into power again. The celebrations by the party cadres has started as people have taken to the streets dancing and bursting firecrackers.

Video is shot by Magesh Sivasankaran showing the ADMK party supporters in a jubilant mood after the party secured a record win in the latest Assembly elections.
