OnePlus, the Chinese smartphone giant has slowly and steadily made a name for itself for producing high end premium smartphones for a fraction of the price. OnePlus One was a success, both commercially and critically. OnePlus improved upon the legacy and now the "never settle" company is gearing up to launch its third premium (fourth otherwise) smartphone.Rumors went riff when an event was announced on April 7th that the company will unveil OnePlus 3 or OP3, but a spokesperson for the company clarified the air. Julian Chokkattu said in a statement that the event will be focused on China rather than the unveiling of the next flagship killer.Carl Pei, the founder of OnePlus which literally walked out of Oppo's backdoor, says that he is hoping that OP3 will be able to recreate the magic and "captivate users as much as OP1 did". Adding further to his statement he said “The only thing we can confirm is that it will be an awesome product,” the spokesperson said. But fans of the company had something else rejoice too. AnTuTu benchmark were leaked on Weibo recently shows stellar hardware combination. The OnePlus 3 also called Oneplus A3000 will come with Android 6.0.1 marshmallow update, the latest Qualcomm 820 processor, 4 GB RAM, Adreno 530 with full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 16 MP rear snapper and an 8 MP front selfie taker. Additionally OnePlus 3 will come with two different ROM options – 32 GB with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB with 6 GB RAM. These are some stellar specs that the competition may find hard to compete with in the near future. The image is yet to be verified however, GSMArena, the popular smartphone portal seems to be sporting the same specs for some time now. Other specs will include dual SIM capability, fingerprint sensor and OIS support, wireless and fast charging for both models. OnePlus is focusing more on developing markets such as India and China where the next wave of smartphone boom is taking shape. But they are getting tough competition from former allies Oppo and new players like Xiaomi who is currently the third largest smartphone maker in the world. Xiaomi turned heads last year when Ratan Tata became the first Indian to acquire a stake in the company which is valued at $45 billion.
