Tipping Point 1.0 was conceptualised by Global Women Network (GWN) and KarmaCircles (KC). It's mission was to be a catalytic and metaphorical changing point in every woman's life who has set on the path of entrepreneurship. The journey started by inviting applications all across India in the month of November 2016. The shortlisted candidates were interviewed and 24 most promising women entrepreneurs from Bangalore, Dehradun, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Indore, Ludhiana, Mumbai and Noida made it to the finals.

Throughout the months of December and January, all finalists went through the rigorous process of knowledge workshops, personalized mentoring sessions and created their videos pitches. This was also accompanied by profiling of all finalists by media sites such as Sheroes, GloballySpotted, SMEPost, Storified, HerSaga, StartupsJourney, Hocalwire, Jan ki Baat, ChaiPaani, SheThePeople, and Feministaa. Towards the end of January, all finalists did an AMA (Ask me Anything) session via Facebook to collect votes from their supporters. Simultaneously, investors across the world reviewed their video pitches and invested "virtual money" in up to 3 startups. Investor panel included Goldman Sachs, Bertelsmann, Scale Ventures, SAIF Partners, Indian Angel Network, Nexus Venture Partners, Matrix Partners, Indian Angel Network, NextGen Venture Partners, and 500 Startups.

Based on the consumer voting and virtual investing, twelve finalists made it to the Grand Finale, a live pitch session, on February 2. Final four winners were Pragti Chauhan (DSD Infosec), Shilpa Bhatnagar (Evoxyz), Sadiya Naseem (Glam Studios), and Varuna Bhambhani (SaralHai). All 4 winners got a Kindle and gift hampers sponsored by Baba Elaichi. Pee Buddy also gave cash prizes and gift hampers to the winners. There were several prizes for the audience as well as other finalists.

Tipping Point focused on providing mentoring, visibility and community to all finalists. It provided complete transparency in mentoring, leveraged technology extensively and created sustainable value for every constituent of the Startup Ecosystem i.e. startups, mentors, investors, media and consumers. In less than two months, more than 100 thank you notes were written for the mentors, more than 150 stories were written about the finalists, more than twelve thousand people engaged on www.readytotip.com during the competition and there were more than 100 thousand views of the various videos created by the finalists.

Tipping Point team is extremely grateful to all its finalists, mentors, investors, media, partners and consumers for making Tipping Point 1.0 a grand success.
